Salty…but oh so sweet!

I’m pretty excited because today I am hosting my first Christmas ornament decorating party. I’ve baked off all my ornaments using Christmas cookie cutters I’ve had for years and I’m having a few kids I know coming over to paint them while we drink hot chocolate and listen to holiday music. This is my first year in my own apartment so I have no holiday decorations of my own or a tree,so to me this was the best way to breath a little holiday cheer into my apartment, plus kids couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday and I’m always open to an excuse to act like a kid again! To make the ornaments I found a simple salt dough recipe that consists of, bonus everything you already have in your kitchen! The next part is easy; just set up your table with brushes, sponges, paint, glitter, glue, and anything else that you think will inspire these kids to use their imaginations and make their ornaments creative and unique!

Holiday Party…Reimagined.

We all love a good holiday party; the lavish d├ęcor, beautifully dressed guests, delicious food. But sometimes, we all just want to kick back and veg out! This year I’m going to do my holiday party a little different and host a Christmas Movie Pajama Party! Sure, we are all adults but if there was ever a time to feel like a kid again this would be it. My living room will be occupied by big fluffy pillows and blankets, grown ups in their best holiday pajamas, and a selection of the yummiest snacks. Not only is it going to be super fun and different, as a host this will save you big bucks. You could even ask your guests to bring a snack or drinks as well and really save( not to mention, this party could be tailored for the little ones). Here’s what you need to plan this party with your friends and family: The Movies Of course this party can run as long as you’d like depending on how many movies you …

Beginning to smell a lot like Christmas…

We are in the business of making memories, and nothing triggers a memory quite like your sense of smell! One whiff of something familiar and you can feel like you’ve been transported to a time and place long forgotten. So, we feel that the first and most critical step in making lasting holiday memories is to fill your home with the irresistible and heart-warming smells of the season! Stovetop Potpourri is nothing new, as I quickly found out when I went running to my mom with this awesome new idea. I remembered bowls of the dried up fruit and twigs around my house as a child, and they did smell nice when you put your nose up to them. Never did the idea of simmering the mixture pop in my head and to be honest, its brilliant! You can use this method and customize the ingredients to your preference, plus coming up with new combinations is half the fun! You could also package the ingredients in a jar or bag with instructions as a thoughtful …
